Imagine Canada Acquires Fundtracker from Ajah
Fundtracker fundraising software moving from Ajah to Imagine Canada
Charities and nonprofits to benefit with improved access to funding opportunities
October 19, 2022 — Imagine Canada, the umbrella organization for Canada’s charitable and nonprofit sector, and Ajah, a global social impact consultancy, are pleased to announce today the transfer of ownership of Fundtracker, Ajah’s fundraising prospect research tool.
Imagine Canada and Ajah will work together to integrate Fundtracker’s unique data and features into the Imagine Canada Grant Connect platform, providing added value to the thousands of organizations that leverage Grant Connect each year to navigate the funding environment.
Imagine Canada and Ajah have previously collaborated on efforts to advance the collection and sharing of nonprofit sector data in Canada, and are now pleased to work together in our effort to build the sector’s best and most accessible fundraising research platform.
"As we seek to ensure that organizations have equitable access to revenue sources, combining the strengths of two trusted products will contribute to the financial sustainability of thousands of charities and nonprofits,” said Bruce MacDonald, President & CEO of Imagine Canada.
"Imagine Canada has a long and proud history of supporting the nonprofit sector. We're excited to collaborate with them in this new way to ensure community organizations have the best tools and data available to them to advance their missions," said Michael Lenczner, CEO of Ajah.
As the demand for timely, relevant, and quality information on funding opportunities continues to grow, Imagine Canada and Ajah are proud of this continued investment in Grant Connect, a Canadian social enterprise with a 56-year legacy in the nonprofit sector. Unlike expensive solutions from for-profit companies — or overly simplified solutions on the market — Grant Connect’s unique combination of an intuitive, modern interface and high-quality data on funding prospects meets the needs and expectations of nonprofit organizations, while remaining accessible to organizations of all sizes.
About Grant Connect
Grant Connect was first released in 1966 as the Guide to Foundations and similar grant-giving agencies. It was originally published by Universities and Colleges of Canada, and later adopted by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy (CCP), which merged with the Coalition of National Voluntary Organizations in 2006 to become Imagine Canada. Today, Grant Connect is a sophisticated online platform used by thousands of Canadian charities to identify funders that share their cause and organize their fund development workflows. The platform is made possible through tiered subscription fees, with significant discounts provided to small nonprofit organizations and a free version available at many participating libraries across Canada.
