74% of Canadians prefer to support businesses with a corporate social responsibility certification.
ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION

Founded in 1988, the Caring Company Certification awards an Imagine Canada Trustmark to companies that give back at least 1% of pre-tax profits in support of the communities where their employees live and work.

Community investment can be in the form of cash donations, paid volunteerism, in-kind contributions, or management costs. In addition, the ongoing fees paid by a company to participate in PRISM are included in the calculation, as are any Imagine Canada advertising donations.

Certification gives companies an advantage by providing a nationally recognized third party verification of their community support.

How it Works

1. Preparation
Meet with us to review what counts as community investment and ensure you understand the calculation. To find value in the Certification, we recommend a company has at least 100 employees or 100 Million in annual revenues.
2. Application
You can begin your application for Certification as soon as you have signed up for the PRISM Network "Certify" level. Companies are provided ongoing support and guidance during the Certification process.
3. Certification

Upon submission, the application will be reviewed by Imagine Canada staff to ensure it is complete, and additional documentation or context may be requested.

Allow at least two months for the full processing of your application. Once the review is complete, the Imagine Canada Trustmark is awarded to companies that meet Certification standards. Imagine Canada will also provide brand guidance to help you make the most of your Certification Trustmark.

4. Renewal
Compliance and continuous improvement during the Certification period are supported through an annual reporting process. Companies are required to submit high-level data each year to demonstrate that their commitment to community impact is being maintained.
