45 Nonprofits Achieve Imagine Canada Standards Accreditation

Accredited organizations demonstrate leadership in transparency and good governance
Toronto, November 12, 2025 — Imagine Canada, the umbrella organization for the Canadian charitable and nonprofit sector, is delighted to announce that 45 organizations have been accredited, or successfully renewed their Imagine Canada Standards accreditation. By meeting standards for nonprofit governance, transparency, and management, these organizations demonstrate an ongoing commitment to effective organizational practices that strengthen their ability to serve and support people and communities across Canada.
In today’s volatile environment, nonprofits are stretched thin, facing rising demand and complex challenges. Achieving accreditation reflects leadership and dedication to excellence in five key areas: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, human resources, and volunteer involvement. Peer reviewers’ evaluations, along with constructive feedback, help organizations elevate transparency and practices, therefore strengthening the Canadian nonprofit sector.
The accreditation process is adaptable for organizations of all sizes and missions so that nonprofits and charities can pursue accreditation at a level aligned with their needs. For a full list of accredited organizations, please click here.
We celebrate all accredited organizations on this achievement, and extend our deepest gratitude to our independent peer reviewers, peer mentors and other volunteers for their remarkable commitment to our Standards.
About the Standards
Since 2012, the Imagine Canada Standards have served as the only national accreditation designed for all Canadian charities and nonprofits. Through a rigorous accreditation process, independent peer reviewers evaluate organizations against 73 standards developed by the nonprofit sector, for the sector. Oversight of the Standards is ensured by the Standards Council, an independent body of sector experts responsible for evolving and safeguarding standards’ integrity.
Acknowledgements
Operating the Standards accreditation is made possible thanks to the generous financial support of our founding and presenting partner, Canada Life.
