The Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR) Launches Canada’s first National AI Impact Hub for Nonprofits

Press release

Developed in collaboration with Microsoft Elevate Skills and shaped by Imagine Canada’s research, the Hub offers Canada’s largest collection of AI tools and learning for nonprofits

Toronto, ON — November 10 — The Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR) is proud to announce the launch of the Nonprofit AI Impact Hub, developed in collaboration with Microsoft Elevate Skills and informed by research from Imagine Canada. The Hub is the first dedicated platform in Canada designed to meet the unique digital needs of the Canadian  nonprofit sector, helping organizations harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly and effectively.

Home to more than 600 accessible AI learning resources, the Hub offers a bilingual, continually updated space where nonprofits of all sizes can explore practical tools and training to strengthen their understanding and use of AI. Developed through months of collaboration between CCNDR, Imagine Canada, and Microsoft, it draws on insights from more than 900 nonprofit professionals to address the real challenges and opportunities shaping the sector today. Together, the organizations share a commitment to helping nonprofits build capacity and deepen their impact in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

“This is a milestone moment for CCNDR, one that reflects the foresight and commitment driving our work,” said Wilfreda Edward, Executive Director at CCNDR. “The Hub was mobilized through the kind of collaboration that’s at the heart of why we were created: to bring people and organizations together to strengthen the sector’s digital resilience. It gives nonprofits a clear place to start, a trusted way to navigate AI with confidence, build capacity, and lead change in their communities.”

Where Learning Meets Action: AI in Practice
With support from Microsoft Elevate Skills, CCNDR is making AI learning more accessible to nonprofits across Canada by offering bilingual training sessions and practical support to help organizations turn knowledge into action.

Through CCNDR’s Nonprofit AI Training Days, nonprofit professionals and leaders can access free, hands-on sessions focused on AI literacy, responsible use, and real-world applications. Presented in collaboration with NetCom Learning, these interactive workshops are tailored to the realities of the Canadian nonprofit sector and designed to help participants strengthen their organizations and the communities they serve. Each attendee will earn a Microsoft AI Fluency Skills Badge, recognizing their learning and commitment to responsible AI adoption.

“With Microsoft Elevate, we are working to ensure that as AI transforms our world, we’re putting people first,” said Lisa Everett, AI Skills Director Canada at Microsoft Elevate. “The Nonprofit AI Impact Hub and access to free training bring that vision to life. We’re equipping people with the resources and skills they need to harness AI, and it’s especially rewarding to see nonprofits leading the way.”

To help nonprofits put their learning into practice beyond these training sessions, CCNDR is offering 150 participating organizations across the country one year of free access to an AI agent. This added support gives nonprofits a space to explore, experiment, and apply what they’ve learned in real time, building lasting confidence and uncovering new ways to enhance their impact through technology.

Sessions are free and will be offered in English and French on November 25th and 26th.

Organizations are invited to learn more and register today.
