Imagine Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Pascal Lépine as Chair of the Board of Directors. Pascal joined our board as a Director in 2016 and has since been a key contributor in helping advance Imagine Canada’s strategic directions, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization. In addition, since joining the Board, one of Pascal’s main priorities has been to help build more relationships with organizations in Quebec.

His commitment to supporting nonprofits and the communities they serve is deeply embedded in his personal and professional endeavours. As the founder of Atypic, the largest marketing communications agency specializing in social campaigns for charities and nonprofits, he has worked with more than 500 foundations and associations, and helped a wide range of Canadian and international organizations. Over the past few years, Pascal has volunteered with more than forty organizations. In addition to being chair of the Imagine Canada board, Pascal sits on the board of the Opéra de Montréal and the Monastère-Cabaret de cirque.

“My goal, during my tenure as board chair, is to follow in the distinguished footsteps of my predecessors. I am focused on extending the organization’s legacy of important achievements and supporting our mission of enabling Canadian charities and non-profit organizations to better serve communities in Quebec, the rest of Canada and abroad. My wish is that Imagine Canada will continue to be a forerunner in our community and to advance the excellence of our members, who come from diverse, inclusive, as well as fair and equitable communities, through the quality of their governance and their programs," said Pascal Lépine, board chair of Imagine Canada.

In addition to the Board Chair, members also elected a new Director, Danisha Bhaloo-Shivji. As a Certified Fund Raising Executive who works as the Fund Development Manager with Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton, Danisha brings to Imagine Canada her extensive experience of the nonprofit sector. In a volunteer capacity, Danisha is Co-Chair for Women United with United Way of Alberta Capital Region, National Board Member for United Way Centraide Canada, and Member of the Women United Global Leadership Council

“Pascal’s drive and passion are only matched by his dedication to helping nonprofits and charities achieve their missions,” said Bruce MacDonald, President & CEO of Imagine Canada. “Our organization, and the sector more broadly, will benefit tremendously from Pascal’s leadership as the Chair of our Board for the next two years. Likewise, the experience and fresh perspective that our new board member Danisha is bringing to our organization is invaluable. We look forward to working with her.”

We would like express our deepest thanks to the outgoing Chair, Ronan Ryan, for his role in leading the organization for the past two years. Ronan will continue to serve on the board as a Director. We also extend our gratitude to Lynne Skromeda, who is retiring after six years on the Imagine Canada Board. We are incredibly grateful for her contributions.
