The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation

Nicolina is the Program Director for the Energy and Economy and Social Innovation in Quebec initiatives at the J.W.McConnell Family Foundation. She is involved in a movement for social change and inclusion in Montreal that is led by several local foundations, organizations and the city of Montreal. She sits on the board of the Canadian Environmental Grantmakers Network and is a member of a funder group working on social inequality in Quebec. She also contributes to two collectives that focus on growing social enterprises and reducing the use of toxics and pesticides respectively. Prior to working at the Foundation, she was Science and Innovation Officer with the British Consulate-General in Montreal. She also coordinated Ashoka Canada’s fellow selection process in Quebec and worked as a consultant to several environmental and international development organizations in Canada and Brazil. She has a Masters and a PhD in environmental sciences.
