Strong Charities. Strong Communities.

New forum to delve into topics on the front lines of Canada’s nonprofit sector

The Philanthropist and Imagine Canada create Sector Pulse

The Philanthropist and Imagine Canada today launch Sector Pulse, a group of thought leaders from across the country who will meet regularly to explore issues related to Canada’s charitable and nonprofit sector.

Sector Pulse provides a new way for two national organizations to align their interests and work together to discuss various issues that inform our public policy work, communication efforts, and research and knowledge agendas.

“We are delighted to bring together a diverse group of people who will assist us in ensuring that the digital content produced by The Philanthropist continues to be leading edge,” said Gordon Floyd, Editorial Director at The Philanthropist. “Over the past two years, we have made major changes to this publication and Sector Pulse will continue our efforts aimed at seeing The Philanthropist maintain its place as the foremost journal for sector leaders in Canada.”

The forum will serve as an advisory body to The Philanthropist and Imagine Canada, with members who are a part of nonprofit communities in many parts of the country.

Sector Pulse members reflect the diversity of the sector in terms of organizational size, cause, culture, and age. Imagine Canada and The Philanthropist anticipate that their perspectives, insights, and strategic thinking as part of this collaboration will help strengthen and enhance the network of social good across Canada.

“Imagine Canada is committed to remaining deeply connected to the people and issues facing the sector,” said Owen Charters, Board Chair of Imagine Canada. “Sector Pulse and our new relationship with The Philanthropist will further enhance our understanding of the current trends and realities that affect the social good landscape.”

Sector Pulse members will gather four times per year.
