Canadian charitable and nonprofit organizations have two options for membership with Imagine Canada. They can join as a member or a Sector Champion.
Canadian charities and nonprofits that support Imagine Canada’s work and vision, and want to engage with other organizations in the sector.
Organizations with a leadership capacity that opt to join at this enhanced level of membership to demonstrate their commitment to Imagine Canada’s vision of a strong and vibrant charitable and nonprofit sector. They receive the same benefits as members, in addition to the opportunity to network with their peers at an annual Roundtable event.
All registered charities are eligible for membership.
Organizations that are not registered charities are eligible for membership provided they meet the following criteria. The organization:
- must be a self-governing body of persons who have joined together voluntarily to take action for the benefit of the community and established themselves for purposes other than for financial gain for themselves or their members;
- must be based in Canada;
- includes its aims, objectives and methods of working set out in a public document;
- is open to all members of the community with interests relevant to the organization’s publicly stated aims; and
- has a mission and goals that are aligned with the spirit and goals of the broader charitable and nonprofit sector.
An organization that has an undertaking and/or is affiliated to a political party is not eligible for membership.
If you do not meet the above membership criteria, you may be eligible to join Imagine Canada as a Sector Affiliate.
Government agencies, individuals, consultancies and international organizations that want to be connected with Imagine Canada and the work we do on behalf of the sector. Affiliates receive the same benefits as regular members with the exception of voting rights at the AGM, access to the Member Profile opportunity and use of the member logo.
